HAIR QUALITY FOR EXTENSIONS

Hair Quality for Professional Hair Extensions

All Prime Human Hair extension products are made from 100% human hair. Available material options include Remy, cuticle-retained, cuticle-aligned, selected Virgin and Slavic hair options. The material route is selected according to the extension construction, target colour, usable length, end fullness and intended market.

HOW WE APPROACH EXTENSION MATERIAL

100% human hair, selected for the finished product.

Prime Human Hair works with multiple human-hair options for professional extensions. The selected material is matched to the product construction, colour target and approved specification.

01

100% Human Hair

All Prime Human Hair extension products are made from 100% human hair.

02

Material Options

Hair material is selected according to the extension construction, target colour, usable length, end fullness and market positioning.

03

Cuticle Options

Cuticle-retained or cuticle-aligned options may be available for selected products and specifications.

04

Made to Specification

Usable length, colour, texture, net hair weight, end fullness, construction and finishing are developed around the buyer’s requirements.

Each extension system is developed around the selected hair material, target colour, usable length, net hair weight, end fullness and construction. Once the sample is approved, the confirmed product and packaging details are recorded as the production reference.

MATERIAL SELECTION

The finished extension determines the starting point.

We review the intended construction, target market, colour, texture, usable length, net hair weight and end fullness before recommending a material direction. A Genius Weft, a very light blonde K-Tip and a dark Tape-In programme may require different starting materials or processing routes.

MATERIAL TERMINOLOGY IN PRACTICE

Is Remy Hair Automatically High Quality?

No. Remy mainly describes controlled root-to-tip fibre direction. Finished extension quality also depends on cuticle condition, previous processing, usable length, end fullness, colour, texture and construction. Prime Human Hair records the applicable material definition together with the finished product specification and approved sample.

Is Virgin Hair Better Than Remy Hair?

The two terms describe different characteristics. Remy mainly concerns fibre direction, while Virgin generally refers to previous chemical-processing history. Hair can be both Remy and Virgin before colour development. The correct choice depends on the finished extension, target colour and required processing route.

Does Full-Cuticle Hair Always Mean a Better Extension?

Full-cuticle hair can be an excellent material option when the cuticle condition, fibre direction and processing route are suitable for the intended product. Finished performance must still be considered together with colour, end fullness, texture and construction. A highly lightened blonde extension and a dark natural-colour Weft may require different material decisions.

What Is Cuticle-Aligned Human Hair?

Cuticle-aligned human hair is prepared so that the fibres remain oriented in a consistent root-to-tip direction. This helps reduce opposing cuticle friction and supports smoother handling. Cuticle alignment should be specified together with colour processing, usable length, end fullness and the final extension construction.

What Does Double Drawn Mean?

Double Drawn describes a fuller length profile created by reducing the proportion of shorter fibres. The required fullness should be approved on a physical sample because different products can use different root-to-end density profiles even when both are described as Double Drawn.

TECHNICAL LANGUAGE

Material terms connected to the product specification.

Each term is used where it applies to the selected material and finished extension.

01

100% Human Hair

Made from 100% human hair.

02

Cuticle-Retained

Used where the selected material retains its natural cuticle layer.

03

Cuticle-Aligned

Used where fibre direction is controlled for the selected specification.

04

Remy Hair

Hair prepared with controlled root-to-tip fibre direction; cuticle condition and processing history are specified separately.

05

Virgin Hair

Hair matching the confirmed definition for previous chemical-processing history.

06

Raw Hair

Minimally processed material with its processing history defined for the selected product.

07

Double Drawn

A fuller length profile created by reducing the proportion of shorter fibres.

Slavic hair options may be available for selected specifications. Source, processing history and technical suitability are confirmed during product review.

MEASURABLE FINISHED QUALITY

How should length, weight, fullness and repeat performance be controlled?

A material name does not replace measurable finished-product requirements. The following checks are connected to the approved extension construction and physical sample.

Is the Same Hair Quality Used for Every Extension Product?

Different products can require different material routes. A light blonde K-Tip, a dark Tape-In and a Genius Weft may use different starting hair and processing methods because their colour, construction and finished-performance requirements are different. Prime Human Hair selects the material according to the finished product rather than applying one material route to every extension.

How Do You Control Usable Length and End Fullness?

Hair is cleaned, prepared and sorted into length groups before product construction. During sample approval, usable length and the lower-length density profile are recorded separately. Repeat production is then compared with the written requirement and approved physical sample.

How Is Net Hair Weight Controlled?

Net hair weight is recorded separately from tape, keratin, clips, thread, labels and packaging. The specification states whether the weight applies to one piece, one strand, one set or one complete pack. Tape-In and bonded systems also record piece count and weight distribution across multiple pieces.

How Do You Maintain Consistency Between Repeat Orders?

Each approved product is connected to a dated specification covering material, usable length, net weight, end fullness, colour, texture, construction, dimensions and packaging. When one variable changes, the product receives a new version so that repeat production is always compared with the correct reference.

Do High-End Human Hair Extensions Shed or Tangle?

A small amount of loose hair may be released during initial handling, but continued shedding, matting or excessive tangling should be investigated before a sample is approved. Samples should be washed, dried and brushed using the same method. For Wefts, inspect the seam and tested cut edges; for Tape-Ins, inspect the tab and adhesive system; for K-Tips, inspect the keratin bond and hair distribution separately.

How Long Do Human Hair Extensions Last?

Service life varies according to the extension system, installation, maintenance, care products, heat use and reuse method. For B2B approval, Prime Human Hair can work with repeated controlled wash and styling tests or a documented salon-wear trial. Changes in fibre feel, tangling, shedding, colour, end fullness and attachment condition should be recorded against the approved sample.
