Bulk Human Hair Wholesale: How to Specify Weight, Length and Hair Quality

Bulk human hair is loose hair supplied without a weft, so its specification must describe the material and bundle rather than a finished attachment. State the intended use, bundle weight, usable length, texture, colour, root/tip alignment and processing requirements. Then define how end fullness will be assessed. A 100g bundle label or a grade name alone cannot tell a buyer whether the hair fits braiding, ventilation or another specialist construction process.

Human hair preparation reference relevant to loose bulk-hair specification

QUICK ANSWER

The short answer

Specify bulk hair in grams per bundle, excluding ties and packaging. Sample bundle options include 50g, 100g, 200g and 300g, depending on the material and order. Add usable length, hair quality, processing, alignment, texture and colour, with a clear end-fullness method where Double Drawn is requested.

KEY FACTS

What buyers should establish first.

  • Bulk hair has no finished weft or extension attachment.
  • Reference weights are per bulk bundle, not per strand or complete wig.
  • Grade names need supporting processing and QC definitions.
  • The Romania order combines bulk-hair grades and tape-in products at a 55cm length reference.

Start with the downstream application

Tell the supplier what will happen to the hair after purchase. Loose hair intended for ventilation may need a different handling and preparation discussion from hair intended for braiding or another product-making process. The application helps identify which characteristics are critical, but it does not justify assuming an unprovided technical result.

Describe any further processing you expect to perform and ask whether the proposed material is appropriate. Do not label the hair unprocessed or suitable for every chemical service simply because it is sold without an attachment. Bulk describes the form of supply, not a guarantee of processing history or geographic origin.

Define the bundle and its weight basis

Use grams per bulk bundle and specify whether the number excludes ties, labels and protective packaging. Reference examples of 50g, 100g, 200g and 300g can start an enquiry, but the accepted bundle configuration should follow the actual material and order plan. Record the count of bundles separately from the total order weight.

If several grades or shades are sampled together, keep their bundle identifiers distinct. A combined total does not preserve which material was evaluated. This is especially important when a buyer later asks to repeat only the preferred sample: the original grade, shade and bundle specification need to be recoverable.

Separate a grade name from evidence about the material

Prime discussions may use Premium Remy, Cuticle Remy and Fully Cuticle-Intact Remy. These labels must be connected to the actual processing description and evidence supporting the proposed product. They are not universal laboratory categories that every supplier defines identically. Ask what the name means in the specification you are being asked to approve.

Do not convert an internal percentage or a commercial grade into a scientific guarantee without a defined test and supporting record. Likewise, a texture-style description such as European-texture does not certify geographic origin. Specify origin, texture, processing and cuticle-related requirements as separate fields in your sample brief.

Make Double Drawn an evaluation method

Double Drawn is useful only if the buyer and supplier agree what end fullness is being assessed. Ask whether the comparison uses a weight-based separation, a circumference comparison or another stated method. Record the reference positions, preparation and sample basis. Two numbers derived from different methods cannot be compared as the same measurement.

Avoid adopting a percentage as a universal industry rule. The task is to define the appearance and usable material needed for your downstream construction, then establish a repeatable assessment. Keep a physical reference and record any trimming or sorting performed during testing, because those actions can change both weight and length distribution.

Build a mixed bulk-hair and tape-in sample request

The Romania sample order combined 55cm Bulk Hair in different quality grades with Invisible Tape-In in 100g pack configurations. This brings loose hair and a finished tape-in construction into one sourcing enquiry.

For a similar request, list each bulk-hair grade separately from the tape-in line. Include the length, physical shade reference and weight required for each sample, with piece count and pack configuration for the tape-in product.

Inspect without destroying the comparison record

Before opening or altering a bundle, record its identifier, stated specification and packaging condition. Measure the agreed weight and length using a consistent method. If a trial involves washing, sorting, cutting or further processing, reserve an unchanged reference where possible and label the tested portion so later observations can be traced.

Bulk hair suits buyers with a defined downstream use or material-development question. It is not a substitute for approving a finished weft, tape, wig or topper when construction matters. A material sample can support that approval, but the eventual finished product still needs its own construction, density or attachment evaluation.

Braiding bulk: specify preparation as well as texture

For braiding bulk, state whether you need loose aligned hair, a particular root-end preparation or another agreed presentation. Ask what sorting, separation or pre-sectioning is included. Braiding is the intended use; it does not establish that the material is virgin, unprocessed or supplied in a standard bundle weight.

For an Afro Kinky development request, provide a physical texture reference and describe the required root-end preparation. The pattern, usable length and dry appearance are assessed for your selected material before the sample configuration is approved.

BUYER CHECKLIST

Use this before approving a sample or specification.

  1. State the downstream use and expected further processing.
  2. Identify each bundle by material, shade, length and weight basis.
  3. Agree a method behind Double Drawn or cuticle-related descriptions.
  4. Retain an unchanged comparison sample where practical.

FAQ

Practical questions from B2B buyers.

Does bulk hair mean virgin or unprocessed hair?

No. Bulk describes loose hair without a weft, not its processing history. Confirm the material and processing requirements separately and request the supporting information relevant to your claim.

Can a bulk-hair sample approve a finished wig?

It can help evaluate the material or colour, but not cap fit, density distribution, hairline or ventilation. A finished wig needs a separate sample and written construction specification.
